ABOUT ABOUT

“THERE IS NOTHING SHOCKINGLY MODERN ABOUT THE DYNAMIC BETWEEN ARTISTIC CREATION & TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION… ART & TECHNOLOGY HAVE ALWAYS MOVED HAND IN HAND”
-  John Adams (the composer, not the dead president)

The ExCITe Center invites you to a Music Hackathon, January 28-29th, 2017 at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Musicians, software developers, designers, circuit benders, artists, and hardware hackers from all over the area will come together to experiment, build, and demonstrate the future of music. Software, hardware, mobile, web, instruments, art -- anything goes as long as it's music-related. All skill levels--from seasoned music-tech experts to motivated novices--are welcome!

The Hackathon will open Saturday morning (Jan 28, 9AM-10PM) with brainstorming, idea pitches, and mini-workshops on a variety of topics, followed by a full day of uninterrupted prototyping and experimentation. Light breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. We will conclude the following day (Jan 29, 10AM-3PM) with brunch and demos and presentations, followed by prizes for best hacks awarded by a panel of judges.
